Ittiam’s Media Processing and Streaming Solutions in Consumer Electronics Show 2006

A range of leading edge consumer products differentiated by Ittiam’s technologies for digital media to be showcased in CES 2006

Ittiam Systems today announced that the company's advanced media processing and streaming technology will be showcased by its customers and partners in the 2006 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, U.S.A., January 5-8, 2006. More than 10 new consumer products and solutions based on Ittiam’s reference designs, including one “CES 2006 Design and Engineering Best of Innovations Award” honouree will be featured — an indicator of the momentum developed by Ittiam’s industry-leading technology. New end-products and reference designs will include IP video phones, portable media players and recorders, network media players and triple-play set top boxes.

“Ittiam is pleased to have its technology integrated into some of the most exciting products at the upcoming CES”, said Srini Rajam, chairman and CEO, Ittiam Systems. “We are creating the right mix of platforms with front-running media processing, distribution and digital rights management (DRM) offerings that allow our customers to build next generation applications in reduced time.”

Ittiam’s customers will feature several new consumer products powered by Ittiam digital media technology. These include H.264 based triple play IP STB from Leadtek Research Incorporated, T600 portable media player by Maxian and PMR-T21 pocket media recorder by Ya Hsin Industrial Company.

Ittiam will also showcase its multimedia reference designs with strategic partners. This includes:

A next generation IP video phone with high quality H.264 based multi-way video conferencing at CIF resolution and 30 frames per second – all harnessed through optimal implementation on a single TMS320DM642™ digital signal processor (DSP) based digital media processor from Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI).

WiFi enabled network media player with Microsoft Windows Media DRM (WMDRM10-ND) and internet radio support. Utilizing TMS320DM320TM DSP based digital media processor from TI this form-factor reference design will feature multi-format video/audio streaming and playback with UPnP compliant content discovery and AV control.

TMS320DM320 device based portable media player/recorder with DivXTM DRM featuring Ittiam’s certified media processing components and advanced audio-video post-processing.
