Intuit Helps Small Retailers Ring Up Success With New Solutions
Unveils Simplified Software for Smallest Retailers and New Web Store Service for QuickBooks Point of Sale
Small retailers want quick answers to three important questions: “What’s selling?” “Who’s buying?” And “How can I save and make more money?” To help answer those questions, Intuit Inc. unveiled a new, expanded line of easy-to-use and affordable solutions for retailers that provide a better and easier alternative to the antiquated cash register.
New this fall is QuickBooks® Cash Register Plus, a software solution that simplifies the most common retail tasks, helping small retailers maximize profits by tracking sales and customers. Intuit has also introduced a new version of its QuickBooks Point of Sale software for retailers with more complex requirements, and a Web store service that integrates seamlessly with QuickBooks Point of Sale 8.0 for store owners who want to reach new customers online and increase sales.
“Retailers need to know how their business is doing, but it is even more important that they make smart decisions, especially in today’s economy,” said Terry Hicks, general manager of Intuit’s Retail Solutions Group. “Our expanded lineup offers retailers the right solution to strengthen their business by bringing in more sales at checkout and putting money in the bank.”
QuickBooks Cash Register Plus – Essential Retail Tasks, all in one Place
Cash Register Plus, priced at less than $300, is as easy and affordable as a cash register, but enables retailers to ring up sales and process credit cards faster right from their PC. In addition, it automatically tracks sales data and runs instant reports to help retailers make more informed business decisions. It also automatically tracks customer information, enabling store owners to know who their best customers are and provide more personalized service.
Most store owners can be up and running in about five minutes after entering basic information to customize Cash Register Plus for their business. Productivity benefits are immediate because of the familiar cash register-like interface that can be used with a touch-screen monitor. Existing product or customer data can be imported directly into the system. Retailers can also easily transfer financial data to QuickBooks accounting software, so they will be organized and ready to go at tax time.
QuickBooks Point of Sale – Web Store Service and More
The new Intuit Storefront for QuickBooks Point of Sale service makes it easier than ever for retailers to expand their store to reach customers online and increase sales. It gives retailers everything they need to start selling online – from designing and hosting their Web store, to managing their online and off-line inventory – all in one place. It syncs seamlessly with QuickBooks Point of Sale 8.0, the latest version of the software.
Using Intuit Storefront, retailers can select which items to sell online directly from QuickBooks Point of Sale. They can also track online and store inventory in one location, eliminating the need to switch between two different systems, avoiding costly mistakes, increasing efficiency, and saving time and money. For those who want assistance, retailers can work with Intuit’s team of experienced Web designers who will help create a professional-looking, customized Web store.
QuickBooks Point of Sale 8.0 includes several other enhancements to improve retailers’ productivity. A new, simple sales receipt view, designed for the daily use of sales associates, features a user-friendly interface that works with a touch-screen monitor and provides easy access to common tasks. Retailers can manage up to 20 registers and, with the multi-store version of the software, oversee up to 20 stores from one location, making it easier for them to expand their business. New reports also help track inventory turn so retailers know how quickly items sell.
Availability
Cash Register Plus and QuickBooks Point of Sale 8.0 are available as stand-alone software or with a complete set of retail hardware, including a receipt printer, cash drawer and credit card reader. Intuit also separately sells a variety of guaranteed-compatible retail hardware.
Additionally, the new Intuit-HP Retail Solution is available through Intuit. This includes Cash Register Plus or QuickBooks Point of Sale 8.0 software, retail hardware and HP’s rp3000 Point of Sale System, which features an Intel Atom processor for lower energy consumption, a retail-hardened design for reliability against long-term wear and tear, a 17-inch flat panel monitor, USB keyboard and mouse.
