Canon Power Shot SD 1000 Review

The Canon Power Shot SD 1000 is affordably priced at $209.99. It is sleek, lightweight, and stylish. Power Shot SD1000 is small, fits in to the pocket well and is excellent for travel purpose. The pictures are sharp with vivid clarity, a feat few cameras have managed to achieve in this price range. This little master blaster is power packed with a hoard of features like Red eye correction, image stabilization and automatic face detection technology.

It is extremely uncomplicated and easy to use especially for those who do not exactly fall into the ‘gadget friendly category’. You can turn it on in the viewfinder or LCD mode and start clicking pictures instantly. It’s auto focus optical zoom, exposure and controlled flash allows for adequate illumination of objects in all light conditions. Power Shot supports the 2.0 High Speed USB data transfer technology and is equipped with a rechargeable battery pack for extended usage.

Its high resolution LCD screen is scratch resistant and coated with anti reflective material for enhanced durability. So, you can stop worrying about the trendy silver looks of your Power Shot digital elph camera that is specially designed to fit well within your fingers for easy grip. SD1000’s night display feature allows for shooting in poor light conditions with similar ease as daylight. Its various preset shooting and special scene’s modes allow shooting conditions for almost all light and surround conditions.

Along with the many advantages of small camera’s SD1000 is packed with its own set of disadvantages too. Its sleek and compact design sometimes cause difficulty in navigation between menu’s especially for those who opt for manual settings rather than sticking to auto focus presets. Its battery life and wide-angle lens are areas that need some improvement.

It’s battery meter only flashes when it is close to dying. It has few manual controls and disappoints those who look for aperture settings in the manual mode. Again, the flash may prove to be a little difficult to set in the manual mode. The body of Power Shot appears to be quite delicate and calls for careful usage. Though the photo quality is excellent it does not matches up to the standard SLR cameras.

For those, who aspire for a digital camera that does almost everything for them other than clicking pictures, Canon SD1000 may just prove to be the most relaxing choice.

Product Description:

Chic and simple to use. Canon looked to the very first ELPH for inspiration when designing the Power Shot SD1000 Digital ELPH, and came up with a quintessential iteration of the icon: slim, clean-lined and fully flat.

Inside, the SD1000 Digital ELPH looks only to the future: 7.1 mega pixels, a 3x optical zoom and advanced DIGIC III ensure top-quality images, while focus is fast and sharp and red-eye is automatically corrected. The large and more colorful LCD screen now has a tough, anti-reflective coating that makes it as durable as it is beautiful.
